Discovering Verizon Wireless Service Codes

Thursday, January 18, 2007

This issue could sound strange to the ears of many Verizon's customers. However, there are people who ignore the service codes to access a number of different features provided by the carrier to empower the mobile experience.

In other words, we can easily say that they are just getting half of the power that their smartphones can offer.

Some of the Wireless Service Codes provided by Verizon are free, some others have a cost per minute plus air time, and they require you to press either SEND or END accordingly to access the services listed below:

*VM or *86 - Voice mail access
#VG or #84 - Voice Gear, voice dialing and information
#BAL or #225 - Check Balance via free text message
*BAM or *226 - Verizon Wireless Customer Support
*BAU or *228 - Roaming list update
#MIN or #646 - Check minutes used via free text message
*DUI or *384 - Report a Drunk Driver (DUI-Driving Under the Influence)
#ROAD or #7623 - Roadside assistance
#TVZW or #8899 - Verizon Wireless Technical Support

411 - Directory Assistance
*611, or 611, or #611 - Verizon Wireless Customer Support
711 - Voice Relay Service
911 - Local Emergency Services

0 or 00 - Verizon North (GTE) Operator
0-NPA-555-1212 Free Directory Assistance from Verizon Wireless

In this case, NPA is the technical term used for area code, but there are many other service codes that we will be providing to our readers soon.
