Surfing across Helio Ocean

Thursday, March 29, 2007

There are many handsets available on the cell phone market, but none like the new Helio Ocean, the world's first dual-slider smartphone, an exclusive model designed by Pantech for this mobile virtual network operator.

Helio is a joint venture between Earthlink and the South Korean CDMA mobile telecom, providing carrier services in the United States since January 2005. Today, Helio brings to reality an innovative cell phone with dual sliding technology that combines a numeric keypad and a separate QWERTY keyboard packed in a single handset.

Helio Ocean features a 260K-color high-resolution QVGA display (2.4 inches portrait or landscape). The Ocean is ideal to enjoy video on-demand, over-the-air music, or Internet sites such as GPS-enabled Google Maps, MySpace, Buddy Beacon, or other social networking tools included.

Multimedia is empowered by a high-resolutions 2 mega pixel camera with zoom, digital flash, and video capability for more than two hours of non-stop video recording, stereo Bluetooth, a 3G media, content powerhouse, and a special chip for over 15 hours of continuous music playback.

However, Helio Ocean dual-slider technology is what makes this handset remarkable. Dr. Wonhee Sull, President and Chief Operations Officer of Helio said, "We started working on Ocean before Helio was officially a company". And now we are closer to see this small wonder with our own eyes. Helio Ocean will be released sometime between spring and summer 2007.
