Friday, March 16, 2007
As leader in the cell phone market, Nokia is always developing new handsets to cover demand from different users and different lifestyles, such as the new Nokia N77 DVB-H announced this past February and available in the second quarter of 2007.
The N77 DVB-H comes packed with the powerful operating system, Symbian Series 60 3rd edition, providing support for popular applications but especially for digital mobile broadcast technology that enables TV support on this small candy bar handset.
Like other 3G smartphones, Nokia N77 DVB-H support Tri-band GSM, EDGE, and WCDMA 2100 MHz, offering a brilliant 2.4 inch LCD display with 16 million color, and a 2 Mega pixel camera, a drawback in comparison with the N73's camera.
Because it is designed with TV in mind, the N77 DVB-H has extensive support for most popular media formats such as WMA, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ and MP3, including a media player and a 2 GB RAM to enrich your multimedia experience.
Price has not been disclosed yet, but it is expected to be near € 370 (about $481 USD) prior to taxes and its unknown if it will be subsidized under a carrier's service plan. Jonas Geust, head of Nokia N-series Players Category said, "TV is the biggest media in the world and we are mobilizing it with the Nokia N77. The pocketable and affordable Nokia N77 further drives broadcast mobile TV based on DVB-H technology towards the mainstream market phase".
