Saturday, February 24, 2007
It is not necessary to walk in a heavy rain shower without an umbrella to get your cell phone wet accidentally. There are thousand of stories about dropped handsets whether in a natural water stream, a kitchen's sink, and even into the toilet!
Most people believe that after a cell phone splash, there is no other option than to replace it, but time does count when it comes to saving your valuable data and its container device before everything is ruined.
Move fast and you will be able to save your cell phone from those unexpected accidents that occur in life. Getting your phone out of the water as soon as possible is the first step towards a successful rescue.
Both plastic and metal covers on handsets are closed tight but after 20 or 30 seconds, the water will pass through and the longer it remains inside, the harder it will be to get your phone working again.
Pick up your phone and use any cloth to dry the water off the surface quickly before removing the battery to avoid circuit’s damage. Remove also the SIM card and dry it with the cloth softly because all your data is stored there.
If your card has not SIM card, begin to dry your phone with the aid of a paper towel or cloth towel to absorb as much water as possible. Let your phone dry naturally for at least 24 hours before reinstalling the battery and connecting to the network.
